ReplyDeleteBronx Zoo is a great one. I have to go back and reread it one of these days.
ReplyDeleteI've read half of it and it's a great read !
DeleteI've been creating a stack of baseball books at my place lately too. I haven't read any of those, I would enjoy reading a baseball book review every now and then...

DeleteI'll have to check out those Negro League books.
ReplyDeleteI'm really eager to read the one about Satchel Paige
DeleteLet me know how they are....
ReplyDeletewill do !
DeleteI like your fluffy slippers. ;)

You have to read it to find the references because James didn't create a bibliography for us, and the book is 15 years old now, but it has a ton of great books from which it quotes.
I actually just picked up a copy of this at the flea market for five bucks a couple weeks ago.. so GOOD
